Dr Tariq is such a great doctor! I'm so grateful to have him as my doctor. He has been more effective and productive with me in 3 visits than I've had with so many other doctors in the past!

I’m concerned that my provider may not be fully certified in the condition he’s treating me for. He told me not to trust others “just because they say they know about my illness,” yet his name doesn’t appear on the national list of providers certified in this field. In addition, these other specialists are Mayo affiliated through my local healthcare system and have extensive experience in how their specialty fits my condition. Meanwhile, my cardiologist—who is certified—has a clearer understanding of my condition. My neurologist at UAB seems confident in his own conclusions, but his explanations often contradict both my lived experience and what I’ve read in peer-reviewed literature. Other specialists treating me across systems have confirmed what I’m experiencing. I’ve left appointments feeling confused, not because I don’t want to understand, but because the information doesn’t always add up or align with what other experts are telling me.
