About Sasha Still

Biography

Dr. Sasha Anne Still is an assistant professor in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at UAB. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas and completed her general surgery training at Baylor Scott and White in Dallas, Texas. She then moved to Birmingham where she completed a two year traditional fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery, followed by a one year advanced fellowship in aortic surgery.

 

She is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, Women in Thoracic Surgery, and International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery.

Research Interests

Her research interests include adult cardiac surgery, namely off pump coronary artery bypass grafting, minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic aneurysm and dissection repair, aortic valve and root reconstruction, valvular heart disease, second time/redo cardiac surgery, and outcomes research.
