About Robert Dabal
Biography
Dr. Dabal is a professor of surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and chief of the section of pediatric cardiac surgery. Dr. Dabal received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina with Honors and Distinction. He attended medical school at Duke University, graduating in 1996. He then completed general surgery residency at Columbia, followed by a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Washington. Dr. Dabal then completed a pediatric cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at University of Colorado and Boston Children’s Hospital. His first faculty position at the University of Florida, and he was then recruited to UAB.
