About Ricardo Azziz
Biography
Dr. Azziz’s biomedical research focuses on the study of reproductive endocrinology and androgen excess disorders. He has published over 500 original peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and reviews, and is consistently ranked one of America’s Top Doctors. He previously served as Deputy Director of the Clinical & Translational Sciences Institute and Assistant Dean for Clinical and Translational Sciences at UCLA; and Director of the Center for Androgen-Related Disorders at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles. He is the founder and serves as Senior Executive Director of the Androgen Excess & PCOS Society. Among other advisory capacities, he served on multiple NIH committees, chaired the US FDA Advisory Board on Reproductive Health Drugs, and served on the oversight committee for the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
Dr Azziz serves as Research Professor, Dept. of Health Policy, Management and Behavior, School pf Public Health, University at Albany-SUNY; Professor, Dept of Obstetrics & Gynecology, School of Medicine, The University of Alabama at Birmingham; Clinical Professor, Dept. of Obstetrics & Gynecology, David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA; and Fellow, Rockefeller Institute for Government.

Excess male-like hair growth in women, hirsutism, adrenal hyperplasia, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), menstrual abnormalities, transgender.
Awards & Recognition
Dr. Azziz has received, among other recognitions, the 2000 President's Achievement Award of the Society for Gynecologic Investigation and was elected member of the Association of American Physicians. At Penn State University he served as President, the Penn State College of Medicine Alumni Society, 1989-92; received the 1992 Cheston M. Berlin Award, Penn State College of Medicine Alumni Society for outstanding service; recipient of the 2014 Alumni Fellow Award of the Pennsylvania State University Alumni Association, the highest honor conferred by the Alumni Association; Proclamation of recognition by the New York State Assembly Puerto Rican & Hispanic Task Force, 2018; and the Health Award from the New York State Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators, Inc., 2019.
