About Rebeka Sipma
Biography
Rebeka Sipma grew up in central California before moving across the country to Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia where completed her undergraduate degree in biology with minors in community development and Spanish. Her family’s experience with neurologic diseases and personal experience working with doctors in Central America inspired her pursuit of a career in medicine. She moved back closer to family for medical school at Loma Linda University, intern year at UCSF-Fresno, and neurology residency at UC San Diego. She also served as chief resident her final year in San Diego. She joined UAB as a movement disorder fellow in 2022 and joined the department as assistant professor in July 2024. Her clinical practice and research focus on dystonia, Huntington’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease.
