About Peter Kolettis
Biography
Dr. Kolettis joined the UAB faculty in 1998, after completing his residency in urology and a fellowship in male infertility at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He has expertise in all aspects of male infertility treatment, including microsurgery, which he performs regularly. He has performed over 1000 microsurgical procedures for male infertility, including vasectomy reversals, varicocele ligations, and sperm retrieval procedures. Dr. Kolettis has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals on male infertility and vasectomy reversal. He has been invited to give presentations on male infertility and vasectomy reversal at national and international meetings. He has served on the American Urological Association’s Male Infertility Best Practice Policy Update Panel, a group that makes recommendations on the evaluation and treatment of male infertility. As part of this group, he helped develop guidelines for evaluating and treating azoospermia, varicocele, and infertility after vasectomy. Dr. Kolettis works with a specialized group of gynecologists, nurses, and a specialized laboratory team to provide comprehensive care for couples with infertility.
