He completed his initial training at the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in India, followed by advanced GI training in the United States, including a clinical fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Jayaram joins the Division of Gastroenterology as a medical pancreatologist. With a publication record on topics related to pancreatic disorders and pancreatobiliary endoscopy, he has developed expertise in the management of acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, and pancreatic cystic lesions.
Research Interests
His research interests focus on pathophysiology of abdominal pain in pancreatitis, pancreatic calculi management, exocrine and endocrine pancreatic dysfunction, organ failure in severe acute pancreatitis, management of pancreatic fluid collections and the early detection and surveillance of high-grade neoplasia in mucinous pancreatic cystic lesions. He is particularly interested in refining risk stratification tools, exploring disease mechanisms, and leveraging pancreatobiliary endoscopy to develop innovative, minimally invasive/ non-invasive approaches for the management of pancreatic disorders
