Holiday weekend. Everyone was rushed. Doctor did not discuss any test results or findings.

The appointment was rushed and felt unheard and not cared for, just a number.

Doctor seemed to care. Not hours of waiting.

Examination always thorough.

Excellent care from my technician and doctor.

I was seen promptly, tested several different ways, Dr V talked to me about my tests and I had no change in my eyes from my last appt. My eyes were completely checked out. With not many Dr's like Dr V, my time felt rushed, I do understand why. I'll see y'all next year

Dr. V is extremely intelligent but yet personable! I am a unique patient as I am monocular, he ran all the needed test on me in addition to what the Dr’s at Callahan eye ER performed. He contacted me personally with my lab results and that he was sending me on to a neurologist who specializes in immunology. He is outstanding and I cannot say enough about his compassion. Truly a gem!

We really appreciate Dr. Vaphiades and his staff. The only negative was waiting an hour and a half in waiting room to be called back. Other than that everything was great.

This was my annual follow-up appt for upgrade the prescription of my glasses prisms. Both the Dr and the assistant were thorough in their exam. I was especially thankful they included a refraction ""exam"" as part of my appt.

UAB Callahan is an outstanding facility.

The neuro-ophthalmologist Dr is extremely nice, as is (most) of the staff. But considering the wait time for the patients, is extremely unacceptable. 3 hours for a check up, is a bit extreme. I love UAB, and all the Drs I see there, this is my only complaint, especially with this department.

Dr.V and his staff are all very nice and listen to you about your problems and do every thing they can and Dr.V knows what to try until he is ready to write a new prescription,he also is very nice and wants to hear if your new prescription helps or not.

Friendly thorough staff

Everyone is super nice in the office and very good at telling you everything they are fixing to do!

While the testing was thorough, as my husband’s caregiver I felt like at the end of the Dr visit his diagnosis really wasn’t explained enough that a senior citizen could understand. I had to keep asking questions to find out enough information. Maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to be though. Main thing is we have answers.

Thank you for not making me listen to unnecessary or annoying music or something like Fox News in the waiting room. There's nothing wrong with silence.

The doctor called me personally to say he was running late. The staff is always professional.

Grateful for the care received! Dr.Vaphiades extensive knowledge in my opinion saved my eyesight! After I had been to several other doctors for months with no success and my eyesight failing further by the day.He was able to diagnose a condition that did not present itself in the normal fashion. I was immediately set up with a proper and expedited treatment plan that successfully corrected my particular condition. Dr.V's genuine concern with my treatment and recovery is refreshing and unfortunately seldom seen these days. UAB is so incredibly fortunate to have a person of this caliber teaching future healthcare professionals!

Comprehensive and thorough.

I was able to get an appointment with Dr. V in one day through my eye doctor in Birmingham. My prognosis went from “could cause blindness”, to having a prism added to my glasses. Dr. V is a miracle for me. It took three hours, but the staff was very efficient and friendly. For me, it was a wonderful experience.

I got called back fast. Doctor is always prompt. However, I have not felt much effects from the botox. I found out about a similar product called Xaxify that lasts months longer. It is similar to Xeomin. Not sure if the doctor may be interested or not. Just FYI. Otherwise my trip was good.

So thankful for dr vaphiades and the standard of care he’s always provided. He’s an outstanding doctor and human being. I also wanna commend one of the wonderful employees in checkout. Her name is Scherian and she is incredibly pleasant , professional, helpful and kind. Her work ethic and demeanor are absolutely amazing and I sincerely hope she is given some recognition for the amazing job she does. Her personality is so warm and kind , she’s diligent at her work and her customer service skills are top notch. Sincerely, one of the sweetest people I’ve encountered in my entire time as a patient ..

Dr. V is phenomenal. When both eyes went bad, he was there to walk me through everything and get me in touch with all the people who could help me. As God has Blessed my right eye to improve, he has still stayed on top of my vision, making sure t uh ere are no surprises. He even stopped a checkup once midway through because he thought my natural tremors were Parkinson’s and gave me a full exam. He truly cares about his patients and goes the extra mile. There is no one better. Although, Dr. [ ] is a close second. He has operated on my eyes twice, and each time they get better. He has kept me out of prisms per my request, and like Dr. V, he does s one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. Please do whatever s necessary to keep them both at Callahan. I’m disabled, but I’d gladly give what I could and fundraise for that to happen. They mean that much.

The technician that did my eye pressure and exam was a pleasure to work with. It's the first time I've seen him but he took really good care of me. He was friendly, caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Vaphiadies is always great! He complimented me on my 50 pound weight loss and said everything looked good and see you in a year. All the staff do a great job! The check-in and checkout ladies were very accommodating as well. I enjoy being seen by such a great team.
