Dr Johnson is the Best. He corrected a botched bunion surgery. I do not have the nerve pain I had before and my foot looks normal now. He is professional, answers all your questions and friendly. I'm so very grateful he performed my surgery.

First, it's the parking. The app makes it too hard to park. I am extremely against having to use my phone as a payment system. I will not be returning to UAB Highlands after my foot surgery 98% because of the parking app. Second: 1% is the signage in the building trying to find your way around. For example when you first walk in, it's not clear where to go for the sleep clinic. Third: 1% for the providers. I've not been entirely pleased with the sleep clinic or orthopedic staff. They seem not as helpful or giving a darn as other areas of UAB. Dr. Michael Johnson seems caring, though, for my short visits with him. I guess visits with all surgeons are brief.

Great service by dr’s nurses and staff. I came in for my 90 day follow up after a full ankle replacement. Dr Johnson noticed a bandage on my thumb and proceeded to ask what happened and to look at the wound. He offered to stitch me up and dress the wound. Above and beyond. Very pleased with the results of my ankle surgery.

There is an older lady at the main desk downstairs. I can't tell you her name because her tag is always flipped around backwards. She is so rude to not just me, everyone she comes in contact with. In contrast everyone upstairs: all the orthopedic staff and xray staff and surgical staff that I dealt with over the top awesome. I really enjoyed working with CJ she was very encouraging to me during a difficult time.

Dr Johnson is a great doctor! [date] and has done good by me every sense. My accident would change my life forever. My foot was pulled off the bone, he saw fit to save it. The man has miracle hands. PLEASE remind this man how important he is to your clinic. People I talk to about him i tell them all he is a doctor with hands. Dr Miracle!👏🏾🙏😇

I feel as though there should be a good evaluation of workflow and patient throughput. I selected a 7am appointment assuming I would be one of the first patients of the day and that clinic would not be backed up yet. When I arrived, there was no one at the desk (she did appear to be doing other tasks). I witnessed this for others checking in as well. The individual checking in patients needed assistance with completing other tasks. Though I was the first patient and arrived a few minutes early, it was still 15-20 minutes before I was called for triage and then found out I was having imaging that no one informed me of. The imaging was fine, no wait after triage for that and the x-ray tech was professional. After imaging she pointed down a hallway and instructed me to head to the end and someone would room me. There was no one there. I was moved to a clinical space where the only staff present was a resident who notified me there was no one here and just said to sit anywhere... so I sat in the first room. ~10 minutes later someone (maybe a CMA) was in the space and seemed annoyed when I was not in the correct room.... how was I supposed to know unless I looked at the chart on the door risking a HIPPA violation for another patient. If you have 7 am appointments, you need staff present to care for patients

- 2 out of 5 starsReviewed on 4/19/2025
Dr. Johnson did not seem to listen to me as to what was going on/symptoms. I waited in the exam room for over an hour at the end of the day, he was obviously tired or not particularly interested.

All staff, including receptionist, nurses, X-ray, & doctors were excellent.
