My exam was thorough. The people I met have compassion and seem to understand my condition. It is complex and it is difficult to walk due to the amount of weakness and nerve pain in my legs/feet also with groin pain. Sitting is also very difficult. My upper thoracic/cervical causes pain, weakness and instability. Everything is worse in the upright position. Traveling in a car can be agonizing at times. I am hopeful Dr Hadley and his team will be able to help me. They rank in the top 50. I look forward to hearing from Dr Hadley next week and working with them to become functional again. I want to ultimately pay it forward to others.

The doctor was rude and condescending. I want a doctor who at least ACTS like they care about me as a patient. When a doctor tells you he doesn't care if you get treated or.not it certainly doesn't make you want to go to them. I will be finding a different doctor that actually cares about their patients.

I could not have asked for a more positive experience during my time at the UAB Neurosurgery Clinic! Dr. Hadley was professional and thorough. He listened and patiently answered each of my questions (and I had several). He provided information about my condition in a way that greatly eased my worries. Dr. Hadley was detailed and informative - both characteristics of which I desire in a healthcare provider. He explained findings on my MRI. I felt as though I was heard; I also felt valued as a patient. I understand my treatment plan and look forward to having Dr. Hadley as my neurosurgeon. It was a blessing for me to find a physician who treats both the patient and the disease process.

My appointment was for 10:30. I was not seen until 11:40. The resident that I saw. Was professional however I felt he did not give me an adequate opportunity to express my concerns. I had read many good reviews on the physician. That was a big reason that I wanted to see him. However in my case he did not live up to the persona that other patients had mentioned. He had no empathy. I was made to feel subservient and was not really allowed to express my concerns. When I mentioned that I had concerns over my MRI report. He promptly responded ""That was his job"". With that I felt it was a mute point. For a continuation of a discussion of my concerns. I was made to feel that I really didn't have an opinion. For some reason it was of great ""interest"" to him as to where I resided. The conversation started with that and again ended with that question. In which I felt that I was there for a medical consult not a geographical inquiry. I left feeling very disappointed in the office visit. I would not return. Extremely disappointed.

He was personable and included my family members in his comments. Very thorough.
