About Kim Stringer

Biography

Kimberlly Stringer, M.D., M.P.H., is an Associate Professor in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at UAB/Children’s of Alabama where she evaluates, diagnose, and treat children with autism spectrum disorder and other related neurodevelopmental disorders at Children’s of Alabama and UAB Sparks Clinics. She is a native of Birmingham, AL. During a high school summer internship at the Sparks Clinics at UAB, Dr. Stringer decided she wanted to work with children with special needs. She earned her medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Stringer completed her pediatric residency at Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas and her developmental-behavioral pediatrics fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Stringer's areas of interests includes:
ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental and behavioral concerns of children with history of prematurity, low birth weight, and congenital heart disease

Improving patient assess to developmental-behavioral pediatric services, implementation of developmental and autism screenings in childcare centers, and studying developmental outcomes in children with congenital heart disease.
