About Kazumi Taguchi

Biography

Dr. Kazumi Taguchi is a physician–scientist, surgeon, and educator with international training and expertise in minimally invasive urologic surgery. After completing his medical education and training in Japan, he pursued advanced research in endourology and surgical innovation at the University of California, San Francisco, before transitioning to the United States to treat conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia and complex kidney stones. A prolific academic, he has authored over 140 peer-reviewed publications, earned numerous international awards, and remains active in education and mentorship. Clinically, he specializes in advanced minimally invasive procedures, including HoLEP, ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy, mini-PCNL, and robotic surgery, with a focus on improving recovery and patients’ quality of life.
