About Joseph Thachuthara-George

Biography

Dr. George received his medical degree at St. John’s Medical College in Bangalore, India. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center and his pulmonary critical care fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, both in Houston, TX. Dr. George also completed an Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY.
Dr. Thachuthara-George serves is certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also a board-certified member of the American Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology.
He joined UAB in August 2016 and has been working with Dr. Hitesh Batra in building the Interventional Pulmonology program at UAB which is the first and only comprehensive Interventional Pulmonary program in the state. He is the Co-director of the IP program and he is also an active member of the Multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Tumor Board at UAB.
Dr. George believes in comprehensive care for the patients in collaboration with various specialties in order to provide the best treatment for their condition.
