Jessica Sparks, CRNP

I like Jessica, but I feel that as a survivor, because I’ve had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction, my concerns are often dismissed or looked over. I was told that it is often thought of like an orange peel. The tissue is removed, but some is always left on the peeling. With saying that, how could any pain or concern be dismissed?

I was impressed that she had read my chart before coming in. She shared several excellent and helpful items.

Ms Sparks is passionate about improving survivorship of her patients. She provides individual counseling on lifestyle and other measures to improve overall wellness.

Appointment was quick ane NP was pleasant. She never rushes and takes her time and is very attentive. Receptionist/desk clerk had negative disposition and seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but at UAB-that is why I deducted a point.

Having had two unrelated breast cancer diagnoses two years apart, I don't know if the post cancer anxiety will ever truly leave me. But I know that being able to check in with Jessica, and LaChara, every year is invaluable to me. Everyone I interacted with yesterday was great. Thank you!

I attend the cancer survivor program and see Jessica Sparks. From the registration staff to the doctor, everyone is very professional, helpful and efficient. Jessica talked with me during and after the examination, not seeming the least bit rushed to get to another patient. I was asked several times if I had any questions. Printed follow-up materials were provided and a test procedure was ordered while I was in the room. I could not ask for a better group to take care of my post-cancer needs. Thank you!!

The woman who took me back for my appointment talked extremely fast, very low and got mad when I asked her to repeat what she said. Not good at all. I had to get her to repeat everything. Everything else was wonderful. Jessica Sparks is great.

Following the active treatment schedule, I think it is helpful to provide a survivor with an exam & an opportunity to have a comprehensive personalized discussion about potential ongoing issues/physical and/or emotional impacts of cancer treatment.
