Research Interests

I am clinical epileptologist with research training in neuroimaging. My University activities include translational and clinical research, clinical care and teaching roles. Currently, I direct a research laboratory focused on neuroimaging of brain plasticity in acute, subacute and chronic brain injury. My other research interests, also related to clinical practice, are in developing treatments for post-injury seizures and status epilepticus in the ICU setting and treatments (pharmacological and non-pharmacological) for the management of psychogenic non-epileptic seizures.

    I truly love my doctor. Dr. Szaflarski is not only an outstanding neurologist but also a compassionate and attentive person.
