About Jeff Curtis
Biography
Dr. Jeffrey R Curtis is a rheumatologist and epidemiologist focused on the efficacy, comparative effectiveness, and safety of the medications used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA). He is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He is the Co-PI of the PCORI-funded Patient Powered Research Network “Arthritis-Power” registry, focused on RA, psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis. He also leads the multi-center NIH-funded large pragmatic randomized controlled trial “VERVE”, studying the safety and effectiveness of the live herpes zoster vaccine in patients receiving biologic agents. He is a member of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) Herpes Zoster workgroup, and in 2015, he was appointed as a member to the FDA Arthritis Advisory Committee.

From the receptionist, to lab techs and nurses were all wonderful, considerate and made me feel so welcome and comfortable. The doctor is awesome in every way. Great listener and very thorough. Best rheumatologist that I have had in years.

I recently changed to Dr. Curtis. After my appointment yesterday, I feel so good about my decision. I understand more about my disease, and what I can do to feel better. Dr Curtis is personable and listened carefully how I described my symptoms. I have to drive further to see him, but it is so worth it! My attitude about my health has improved greatly.

Dr. Curtis and his staff are exceptional. Dr Curtis, a rheumatologist, is probably the best rheumatologist I have ever used. He is extremely knowledgeable and listened to my concerns and has a positive outlook, and I believe with him guiding my way I will have a better and healthier future. His staff were very attentive, empathetic and professional.
