About Jayleen Grams

Biography

Dr. Jayleen Grams joined the faculty at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2009. A native of Minnesota, Grams received her undergraduate degree from St. Cloud State University and matriculated into the Medical Scientist Training Program at the UAB. Here, she completed her Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology and her M.D. in 2003. She returned to Minnesota to complete a general surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., followed by a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, N.Y. Dr. Grams’ clinical practice focuses on foregut and bariatric surgery.
