John Allen Cooper, Jr., MD

Dr Cooper is a great caregiver and physician who keeps his eye on the ball relative to pulmonary related issues that for me have gotten fairly complicated over the years. He is personable and encouraging in his conversation but also looks closely at recent test results and ask pertinent questions relating to any symptoms I might be having that are not reflected in the test results. As a matter of fact. It would be my preference if he is my primary care physician having overview of my medical health. My first encounter with Dr Cooper West when he worked me into his busy schedule due to a breathing symptom Express to Dr Winfield [ ] during a neurological surgery follow up visit. The appointment with Dr [ ] was late one Thursday afternoon yet he spoke with Dr Cooper's office and Dr Cooper worked me in the next day which I believe was late Friday for some tests and time effective time office visit. during this visit he observed that I looked fine but would call if he saw anything problematic from the test results when they came in. Again this was a Friday afternoon late and I had to drive back to Atlanta area At about 5:15 p.m. Dr Cooper called my cell phone as I was in transit and related to me that I had some bronchiectasis and he was sending prescriptions to my pharmacy to help with symptoms . Again this was late on a super busy Friday Many other providers at other medical institutions might have sluffed it off until Monday In another instance while checking in for a follow-up pulmonary appointment with Dr Cooper, probably staff was checking my blood pressure and heartbeat they noticed a high heartbeat and told Dr Cooper before my appointment time He dropped what he was doing came in to see me and immediately arranged to have cardiologist providers come tend to me within a few short minutes. As usual this was a super busy time at Kirkland clinic. Within a minute or two Dr Cooper and the cardiology providers had me hooked up with to some portable equipment which revealed I was in AFib. They immediately put me on a blood thinner and I was able to get back to Atlanta. The 8th February occurred while I was in Atlanta so an ablation was done to solve the problem. Also Dr Cooper, after I told him I had been diagnosed with amyloidosis, referred me to doctor [ ] at UAB who is also a great doctor. As you can surmise UAB has done an incredibly good job in keeping me around. Prices to God for such men as Doctor John Cooper, Winfield [ ], Dr [ ] and Dr [ ]. UAB also solve the problem with my daughter-in-law who was probably just days from death. Neither St Mary's hospital in Destin Northern Navy hospital in Pensacola could solve the problem relative to some type of pneumonia My son had already told me that he thought Shelly was about to die when they airlifted her to UAB in Birmingham You guys at UAB and gals had properly evaluated the problem and had her on meaningful medication within about 24 hours That's probably been over 20 years ago The bottom line is Dr Cooper is great as well as the other mentioned medical professionals at UAB It should be added that Dr Winfield Cooper and Dr double [ ] teamed up to do gamma knife surgery on my brain to treat a female formations about 14 years ago and more recently about 4 years ago Apologies for being so long-winded but as I age I wanted to make sure UAB and particularly these individuals no how much my family appreciate these individuals as well as UAB .

Everyone is helpful and professional. Also impressed with how well all visits are prompt as scheduled, and everything flows on time.

They got down to the problem fast.Thank God

Had a wonderful talk with my doctor I love Dr. Cooper. He’s very concerned about me and my breathing and my chance of wrong cancer tells me like thank you guys so much.
