About Helen Krontiras

Biography

Dr. Krontiras, a breast surgical oncologist, is the Director of the Division of Surgical Oncology. She is the Medical Director of the UAB Multidisciplinary Breast Clinic, a clinic in which medical oncologists, surgeons and radiation oncologists work together to see new breast cancer cases. She is the Co-Director of the Lynne Cohen Preventive Care Program for Women's Cancers at UAB and the Co-Director of the Breast Cancer Prevention and Risk Assessment Clinic. In her role as Assistant Chief Medical Officer for Ambulatory Quality and Patient Safety for UAB Medicine, she participates in quality improvement and quality assurance activities.

    Yes, Dr. Krontiras is an excellent breast surgeon. She is not only a great surgeon, but a genuinely kind person. So honored to have her as my doctor. She really has great skills and the best bedside manner!! The entire O'Neal Cancer Center staff was excellent as well!

    They are beautiful people. Christ like, in the way they serve, all of the team, from the lady who signed me in to Dr. Krontiras. I may sing a different tune when they wake me up from surgery.😂

    Everyone was so helpful. Having the team come to me in one room was amazing. My only complaint is how warm it was in the lab where I went to have my blood drawn. The workers were sweating in their long sleeves and I was sweating in my short sleeves.
