After getting checked in and to the bed. I was given the IV and not a single nurse made eye contact with me, offered to get me a fresh, warm blanket. They didn’t change my fluid bag or check my blood sugar. No one would make eye contact with me for me to even wave at them. I said ma’am to several walking by. When my blood sugar was finally checked when the CRNA came to get me for surgery, he had to ask 3 people to get me the meds needed and I was put to sleep not yet receiving the meds.

Yes the GI department at Kirkland Clinic appears very professional. I appreciate the thoughtfulness of Dr Sarkis, he showed concern and professionalism. He found and handled issues that have been a problem which other GI doctors overlooked.

My intake lady was so sweet and knowledgeable. She was very kind and professional while taking my vitals. The doctor was very personable and he showed that he really cared about the issues I was having! Great experience.

The chairs that were empty in waiting room had our backs facing reception desk. Thus making it hard to hear when name was called. Also the sun was in our face. We love Dr. Sarkis. Fabulous bedside manner!

My doctor is absolutely amazing. I’ve been to other GI doctors and I was told that my health problems were “all in my head” and that they couldn’t help me because I “need a psychiatrist”. I’m so incredibly grateful that my doctor sent me to UAB to meet with my GI doctor. I would absolutely recommend UAB GI to a friend or family member. Thank you, UAB GI for figuring this out and finding a treatment for me!
