About Evelyn Evans
Biography
Dr. Evelyn Evans attended medical school at Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine, residency at Morehouse School of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics, and fellowship in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Johns Hopkins. After fellowship, she worked at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. She relocated to Alabama in 2009 and worked in a private practice in Selma, AL for nine years. She developed a passion for providing care to youth in rural areas during that time. In 2018 she served patients in Montgomery, AL at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). In 2022, she returned again to Selma, AL, this time serving in an FQHC. In June of 2024 she joined the faculty in Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at COA/UAB. Her personal philosophy of care is to "lead with love," because as the saying goes, "people don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care."
