Dr Huang and the nursing staff were absolutely wonderful and gave tremendous care and treatment for my mohs surgery. The entire procedure went smoothly considering the fact that the cancer was much more extensive than anticipated. I would recommend the Uab Mohs dermatology team if you ever require Mohs surgery.

My nurse Ramona was really sweet but also professional. She made the visit so much more comfortable. Dr Huang was wonderful too. He seemed to take time with my procedure and I hear he is the best. Also the girl who made my appointment was really sweet and helpful.

The staff are the best

After Dr. Soong recommended Dr. Huang for my mohs surgery and assured me he had been doing this for 25 years I felt confident in his ability. I was at his office for over 7 hours and Dr. Huang never did one procedure or stitch of the 2 areas of my face. Instead his Doctor in training did all procedures while constantly having to stop to get his opinion. They would discuss at length how to proceed. This entire teaching process added hours to my surgery. It was traumatic being there for over 7 hours with nothing to eat or drink and bleeding profusely. After the surgery my BP was so high (210/112) I was advised I needed to go to ER. After coming home my BP returned to normal. I have never had BP that high in my life. I feel at 81 years of age coupled with the fact that both cancers were on my face (one on nose near eye and the other on lip) I should not have been used as a teaching aid. I will say that the Dr. In training was very nice and I have no ill will toward her. While I realize this is a teaching hospital I feel my age and the fact these were on my face should have precluded me from being the guinea pig for the day. Even at my age I still take great pride in my appearance. When my daughter questioned Dr. Huang about the scarring he replied ""it will just look like a wrinkle."" I thought that was rather condescending.

My thanks to Caitlin for getting me an appointment less than a week after your office received the referral! There was little wait time after I arrived for my appointment. There was little wait time after intake before Dr. Huang did his initial examination. Afterwards, he clearly explained my options and the expected result of each option. I chose surgery. There was little discomfort during the surgery prep. Thanks Anna. You are good! No discomfort during surgery. Dr. Huang was recommended by my dermatologist as being highly skilled and the best physician in town for my problem. I am pleased with the result -- likewise for the MOHS procedure done a few months ago.

Dr. Huang is thorough, thoughtful, and conscientious. I see his dedication to excellence and I appreciate his willingness to help educate me about each part of the process. Because they went above and beyond to work my surgery in while another family member was at UAB for an appointment. They had an extremely long day but took care of my procedure.
