Research Interests
My primary research interest is to gain a better understanding of the types of long-term side effects experienced by cancer survivors, primarily patients with head-and-neck cancer and men with prostate cancer. I hope to better identify factors which predispose patients to having worse quality of life outcomes after cancer therapy and develop strategies to improve these outcomes. I also work to develop clinical trials of supportive care interventions during radiation therapy as well as participate as site investigator for multi-institutional therapeutic clinical trials.

Check in staff was very thorough….:called my Primary Care Provider to get PSA results…..the two women were thorough and dedicated! Dr.McDonald is outstanding. Covered my options thoroughly and with patience. Answered all my questions. I was seen ahead of schedule too! Throughout my prostate cancer battle, I have seen several private practices. They clearly had sales and profit as their priority. When engaging with UAB, I sincerely feel my health is the priority and the team is doing what is best for me not necessarily short-term profit. This just feels better and very different.Thanks so much….. We are clearly blessed to have UAB in our community.
