Research Interests
Development of an effective artificial pancreas system for patients with Type 1 diabetes using the closed loop system of insulin delivery and glucose sensing is on of Dr. Ananda Basu’s significant interests. With this in mind, he has been successful in securing MULTIPLE awards from NIH INCLUDING EXPLORING a novel method to measure glucagonkinetics in Type 1 diabetes using stable label human glucagon isotopes in vivo. As far as we know, this is the first such attempt in humans to do so.
