About Susan Bal

Biography

Dr. Bal is a malignant hematologist caring for patients with plasma cell disorders with special interest in Light chain (AL) Amyloidosis and Multiple Myeloma. She is additionally sub-specialty fellowship trained to perform stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies such as chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapies.

Dr. Bal is working with other UAB subspecialty colleagues to start a specialized interdisciplinary program in systemic AL Amyloidosis, the first of its kind in Alabama.
