He has secondary appointments with the Comprehensive Neuroscience Center at UAB.
Dr. Han's main clinical focus is treatment of central nervous system tumors and associated neurological complications such seizure and headaches, ect. Medical therapy is an integral part of treatment for patients with brain tumors and includes conventional chemotherapy, molecular targeting therapy, as well as the use of novel, experimental therapeutics that are designed to specifically kill brain tumors. Research Interests
Dr. Han maintain an active laboratory and translational research program focused on the role of Protein Arginine Methyltransferase -5 in gliomagenesis. In addition, Dr. Han's lab is also interested in modeling IDH1 mutated lower grade gliomas employing innovative experimental approaches. My long-term goal is to identify new molecular targets that can be used to effective treat glioblastoma and lower grade gliomas.
The second area of interest involves clinical investigation of novel cancer therapeutic agents. This includes the design and implementation of clinical trials for newly diagnosed and recurrent malignant glioma.
