I've never had a bad experience at UAB Hoover until yesterday. I'm not blaming anyone at all just had a scary moment after getting home from my checkup. My right eye may have already been infected, I'm not sure just what the problem was. I had sever pain in the right eye and every time I blinked it felt like I had crud in my eye and it was very painful. I did everything I could think of to make the situation better but it got worse.

UAB Hoover really cares about their clients and that's extremely important to me ! I have a problem with really dry eyes and been having a hard time seeing and your office made sure I got the eye drops to help with my eyes. I really appreciate it very much! Thank you for caring for your clients!

Changing and rescheduling appt in a reasonable time is impossible unless you can find a way to get thru the back door for appts

I've been to several Callahan Eye facilities over time and the Pelham location may have provided the best experience. I usually only wait just a few minutes and they move me along quickly (testing, dilating, etc.) Dr. Dudley and her team are exceptional in my opinion. Last year, after complaining that I noticed a slight loss of vision in one eye) they ran every test imaginable and discovered that I had a hernia on my cornea. Undiagnosed it would have led to blindness! Because of that discovery I had surgery and have retained vision in that eye. Dr Dudley has since seen me twice this year to make sure that I'm maintaining my vision. I absolutely love her and her team. I wouldn't go anywhere else, even though I drive past another Callahan location. I wouldn't use anyone else.

I did not have to wait long and knowledgeable doctor.

Everything was great and proceeding without delay until checkout time. I wanted to talk to someone about eyeglasses using the prescription I was given. The lady I was supposed to talk to asked me if I needed something, and after I told her, she was somewhat rude in her reply telling me to sit and wait (she was working with another patient I believe). After waiting at least 20 minutes, I decided to leave because it looked like she wasn't going to be done any time soon and I had somewhere I had to be.

Dr. Dudley and her staff are kind, respectful, and take their time with patients. I never felt rushed and was able to ask questions and get answers. I was made comfortable every step of the way.

I rarely recommend anything to anyone, but I have nothing but good things to say about my cataract surgery and my yearly follow ups with Dr. Dudley. Appointments have been on time with little or no wait. I am [age] years old and wore glasses 65 of them. I now see at 20/20 in both eyes and with the Vivity lens I rarely use readers and then only for the finest or smallest print.

Because I am treated with respect and kindness by all staff…from Dr Dudley to the receptionist. I am well pleased by the complete-ness of care and follow-up.

I arrived a little early for my appointment and was taken back about 15 minutes early. The exam was very thorough. I was kept informed about each step in the examination process. The doctor was very knowledgeable, very cordial and very caring.

The eye tech, Darius, was fantastic! So easy to talk to and made me feel so comfortable with my first adult eye exam. I’ve never had one done but he assured me things would be ok and he took the time to explain everything he was doing. Darius was relatable and gave some great life lessons!
