About James Weisberg

Biography

James Weisberg, PhD is a clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of chronic non-cancerous pain. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. Previously he was on the faculties of the Emory University School of Medicine and the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. He maintains an active clinical practice that focuses on cognitive-behavioral pain evaluation and treatment and he trains medical students, residents, pain fellows and clinical psychology graduate students.

Dr. Weisberg graduated Cum Laude from the University of Colorado-Boulder, where he was a dual major in psychology and philosophy. He received his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed his psychology internship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and a Pain Management fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Weisberg is the co-editor (with Robert Gatchel, Ph.D.) of Personality Characteristics of Patients with Pain (APA Press, 2000). Dr. Weisberg has co-authored a number of peer-reviewed articles and chapters, is a reviewer for professional journals and speaks nationally.
