Comprehensive care

Love my doctor and my appointment was perfect. The only reason I wouldn’t recommend UAB is because when I was ill I had to see aPN who was not capable of handling my problems.

I was seen five minutes before my appointment time. The tech introduced herself clearly and faced me. She greeted me nicely, not just name. The doctor came in my treatment room almost immediately. She was very nice and asked me specifically what I would like to talk about. I told her I had made a list of things divided up in the routine problems that I knew were on my problem list and some new ones I would like addressed.She liked my list. She went though the list. Covered all my concerns, came up with a way to address the new problems and reinforced how I was handling the old problems (chronic illnesses). I guess I should just say, I was seen in a timely manner, was heard, responded to in the way I would always want a healthcare worker to responded,, came up with solutions where needed and wished me well.

Everyone was great. Parking was stressful.

My annual visit with the provider was perfunctory; I asked that the most comprehensive mammogram be ordered and her sarcastic comment was she was sure UAB had the latest technology. No bloodwork was ordered, she only reviewed my meds and listened to my chest. I haven't had a fasting lipid panel in several years, I've never been offered any kind of comprehensive health screening-I couldn't be more dissatisfied. I am actively seeking a new provider who will care for me as a person rather than simply an insurance payment.

It is always a great experience. The staff are professional, knowledgeable yet friendly. There is hardly ever a wait. Dr Stefanescu is a wonderful doctor. She listens with care and always takes the time needed to explain and go over things to answer all your questions or concerns. She is the best!
